When it comes to denim skirts, most of us favor the mini variety. But designers are looking to expand our sartorial horizons and our hemlines. The Spring 2020 runways were full of (mainly) midi inspo, from Celine to Stella McCartney to Givenchy. And these aren’t your traditional jean skirts. Patchwork patterns, acid washes and frayed edges make the recent stock of long denim skirts thoroughly modern.
While midis were the length of choice, we’d like to make a quick pitch for the maxis. Maxi denim skirts make great transition pieces since they cover your legs (though you may still have to layer leggings underneath on those bitterly cold days).
