You’ve probably already reinvigorated your closet with updated classics like bike shorts, chokers, handkerchief hems and maybe even a new Juicy Couture tracksuit (or two). That’s because what was once tacky has suddenly become trendy again. Truth is, fashion loves a comeback and designers have brought back concepts from the 70s, 80s, 90s and early aughts that we all thought were dead and buried (hi there, scrunchies).
But even with all this resurrection, we still feel there are some old-school styles that deserve another shot. From the 80s jacket that proved you ran with the in-crowd to the brand that introduced our preteen selves to colorblocking, here are the fashion trends we’re hoping will be given a second chance.

Mood Rings
Not only would we love to see mood rings experience a resurgence, we’re dying to see the 70s trend expanded. Think statement earrings, chokers, etc.

Members Only Jackets
They were the only way to tell you were "in" in the 80s, but with bombers and windbreakers back in the fashion fold, these jackets deserve a revisit. The brand actually still exists, but we still favor the classic Racer Jacket in shades like khaki or gray.

Rubber Bracelets
Madonna loved her bracelets in the 80s and even in the midst of stacks like these, the rubber ones still stood out. The skinny bracelets popped back up in the early aughts with even Beyoncé sporting them, but we think the inexpensive accessory should be given another shot.

Laceless Sneakers
Back in the 80s, Run-D.M.C. rocked their Adidas Superstars sans laces. And with the prevalence of grandpa sneakers today, we think slipping out those laces would be an improvement. #Swagger

Cross Colours
Technically, Cross Colours never left. But the brand definitely peaked in the 90s. We miss those brightly colored caps, tees and pants (you know, colorblocking before colorblocking was a thing). We have high hopes it’s about to find its way back to the limelight, especially since Bruno Mars and Cardi B have been rocking the line while performing their hit "Finesse (Remix)" and the brand is officially sponsoring Bruno’s world tour.

Ringer Tees
Back in the mid-90s we all wanted to be Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth. And her cult fashion line X-girl helped us get one step closer. Its calling card was ringer tees, a prerequisite for any riot grrrl (just ask Chloë Sevigny). It’s time the tees and the line — which is still pushing out must-haves for the skater set — are given another go-round.

Satin Shirts a la Tom Ford for Gucci
Tom Ford’s Fall 1995 collection for Gucci is the stuff of fashion legend. We’re really longing for those shiny satin button-downs in solid jewel tones, unbuttoned halfway down. It was glamour when everyone else was doing grunge.

Mohair Sweaters
Since plaid and combat boots are both currently popular, why not revisit their perfect partner in crime: mohair sweaters. We’re not advocating dressing up as Liv Tyler circa Empire Records, though (save that for Halloween). For 2018, we’d like to see mohair sweaters topping cargo pants or peeking out from under anoraks.

Cropped Cardis
FYI: We’re not talking 90s-era shrugs (those should be burned). The cropped cardis we want to give a second chance are the button-down kind that were cut just above the navel, frequently seen in teen movies in the late 90s/early aughts. How many buttons you button is up to you.
