Karlie Kloss is a boss baker, a Reformation investor (insert raising hands emoji here) and a master in the art of chic, on-the-go dressing (her midseason uniform consists of printed jumpsuits and tennis sneaks, FYI). She’s someone who helps save elephants and teach young girls how to code. She’s also a St. Louis native, which is why, last night, fashion folk from all over America gathered in the Midwestern city to fête the launch of Karlie’ latest endeavor, a limited-edition, 17-piece line for Express.
Always in the business of female empowerment, Karlie chose not to populate her runway with her high profile, Taylor-Swift-containing #squad. Instead, the Express ambassador turned designer selected “real” women (we promise to come up with a better phrase for this soon) to model her maxi dresses, embellished bombers and graphic tees reminding us all to practice “optimism.” The lucky catwalkers were scouted via an Instagram contest in which they submitted a video explaining “how they live their best life and inspire others to do the same.”

“This collection is made for everyday women — the strong, dynamic, on-the-go achievers among us,” stated Karlie in a press release. “It was amazing to have Express so closely aligned in this vision to design a collection that has a fashionable staple for any occasion. I am excited for us to launch with a runway show back in my hometown of St. Louis, featuring women who…know going after your dreams is always in style.”
Said versatile, Karlie-approved wardrobe essentials are now available to shop at Express locations and on the brand’s e-commerce site. Prices range from $19.90 for a cheeky keychain and bag charm to $168 for an embellished denim jacket.
