30 Sneakers You’re Going to Want to Wear With Everything This Spring

Fashion month just wouldn’t be fashion month without blogger and style influencer Chiara Ferragni. She was practically everywhere for Fall 2017, from Paris to Milan to New York. And while we spotted her rocking some towering footwear, we also saw her sporting a couple of pairs of comfy sneakers. Now, it must be noted that at least one set came from her very own Chiara Ferragni Collection, so this was partly just good marketing. But upon closer inspection, we discovered that she wasn’t the only showgoer ditching heels and boots for practical shoes.
From retro to thoroughly modern, sneakers were one of the best fashion month accessories; Images: Imaxtree In fact, retro sneakers are definitely having a moment. Members of the street style society embraced ones like the iconic Converse Chuck Taylors and Adidas Originals Superstars during this recent round of fashion shows. We also spotted a fair share of Nikes and Vans. There were even those showgoers who favored designer sneakers, like Gucci’s easily recognizable line of decorated low-tops. Capping off suits, dresses and track pants, it just goes to show that sneakers really can be worn with everything.
Alexander Wang Spring 2017, Tommy x Gigi Spring 2017, Paul & Joe Fall 2017; Images: Imaxtree Designers seem to agree. The Spring 2017 collections featured several newfangled sneaker silhouettes, like fringe-topped high-tops at Alexander Wang, white low-tops/courts at Adam Selman, strappy versions at Band of Outsiders and colorful patterned creations at Baja East. Meanwhile, Tommy Hilfiger (along with Gigi Hadid) brought the quintessential high-top with bright red laces to Venice Beach. And the trend continued into Fall 2017 as labels like Paul & Joe amped up its decorative interpretation with an oversized lace-up bow. And if you want more proof that sneakers are trending, heel devotee Victoria Beckham grabbed headlines recently when she confessed that for the sake of comfort, she would be substituting sneakers for stilettos. Just check out the classic Adidas she rocked in New York City last month as she prepped for New York Fashion Week and the Yeezys she was just spotted in over in London. Now that we’re on the heels of spring and its temperatures that push past the 50-degree mark, most of us can’t wait to slip on our favorite or just-purchased pair of sandals. And while we’ve got no issue with flaunting our freshly polished toes in a set of strappy sandals, we’re also keen to test out all the latest and greatest sneakers out there. You can keep up with some of the biggest trends by selecting kicks in shiny patent leather or ones in khaki, pink and stark white hues. You can also pick up sneakers boasting bows, distressed details and other fun accents. Get your fill of fresh kicks by checking out the slideshow below.
