On Thursday, February 2, the #GrabYourWallet movement got some major validation — Nordstrom announced it was pulling Ivanka Trump’s namesake line (known for its conservative, stylish, office-friendly wares). “Over the past year, and particularly in the last half of 2016, sales of the brand have steadily declined to the point where it didn’t make good business sense for us to continue with the line for now,” maintained the retailer, adding, “We’ve had a great relationship with the Ivanka Trump team.”
My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2017
Despite Nordstrom’s seeming objectivity, President Trump denounced the brand via Twitter yesterday. Some Trump supporters even called for a rebuttal Nordstrom boycott. We’re calling foul on this new raft of haters. In celebration of #GrabYourWallet’s recent success and Nordstrom’s brave (if pragmatic) move, we’re here to prove that you can get your fill of chic, Nordstrom-bought work dresses without shopping Ivanka’s line.
