Congratulations! You made it through one of the most dramatic Fashion Months to date . Now that the endless stream of presentations has finally come to a close (both stateside and in places where the runway is measured in metric units), we’ve determined which trends stood the test of time difference.
Let us begin by acknowledging that trench coats and ruffles popped up in nearly every Spring 2017 collection, from New York to London to Milan to Paris. Rather than celebrate the obvious, we’d rather award these two their golds here and now, then address the matter of greatest concern: What trickier trends did designers adopt, how did they style them and how can we make them our own?
Click through the slideshow above for the lowdown on 10 of the most wearable Spring 2017 fashion trends. When realizing these looks, simply assume at least one item you’re wearing should feature some sort of ruffle or that it’s a trench that’ll be shielding your outfit from the elements.

NSFW Workwear
The dress code for Spring 2017 was "casually mind your business." The button-downs were mostly deconstructed, literally sweeping coats hung off of one shoulder or another like dreamy afterthoughts and dress pants were Frankensteined, paper-bag-waisted and layered in ways that would befuddle HR. All in all, the borderline work-inappropriate looks have us eager to take reimagined professional staples to the streets.

Dress, Pants
As demonstrated by Rodarte, Derek Lam, Balenciaga and more, wearing a dress over pants is a tricky but highly fulfilling way of livening up your wardrobe staples. (And yes, for lack of a better word, we're calling those purple things pants — forward all objections to Demna.)

Under-Over Garments
The bralette craze took off in New York and hit lightning speed once it crossed the pond. Knowing full well that in order to wear underwear as everyday wear we need some added coverage, designers posed similar sartorial solutions. See ahead.

Cargo or Go Home
Countless designers made the case for head-to-toe tan. In most cases, immense cargo pockets were involved. In none of these instances did we mind. The more general takeaway is that coordinating sets, exaggerated proportions and military everything (from trench coats to Napoleonic jackets) are in.

Clear Match
Tulle, sheer and all things peekaboo dominated presentations from New York to Paris. As far as styling goes, designers suggest you leave exactly one half of your bod to the imagination. Top or bottom, it's your call (minds out of the gutter, thank you kindly).

Sports Stan
Athleisure fans, rejoice. Not only have J.Crew and New Balance entered the spandex-filled fray , but the trend is going absolutely nowhere. True sports Stans (fans as reverent as the ill-fated subject of the legendary Eminem song ) will soon be rocking their uniforms with pride and without underpinnings as per Christian Dior, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo and more.

Candy Striper
Of the seemingly infinite patterns that walked the Spring 2017 runways, stripes were by far the most memorable. From Rosie Assoulin's sparkling rainbow rugby dress to the delicate lines favored by Monse and Jacquemus, a slew of designers updated the classic print. Wear them vertically, horizontally and/or diagonally; mix and match colors and thicknesses. The bolder the better, we say.

Bite-Sized Bags
For Spring 2017, it was as if every bag that walked the runway had taken a bite of one of Alice's infamous "Eat Me" cookies. At Celine, Balenciaga, Ports 1961 and more, we saw gargantuan totes capable of carrying a week's worth of laundry. On the opposite side of the spectrum, petite pocketbooks popped up on many a catwalk, most notably at Louis Vuitton, where designer Nicolas Ghesquière downsized the brand's iconic Petite Malle silhouette into an iPhone case to the joy of luggage-lovers everywhere. Let's hear it for the little guys.

Say It With Sleeves
Sleeves — ruffled, belled, extra long, slit, poofed to perfection — broke out all their tricks on the runways. An experimental arm silhouette is a definitive yet discreet way to add interest to any outfit and we plan on taking full advantage of this far-reaching trend.

Clash Course
For Spring 2017, throw everything you knew about the subtle science of print and pattern mixing out the window. Rock purposely mismatched outfits with pride. If you find that bystanders are openly staring at you, brows furrowed with confusion, mouths agape with wonder, you're doing it right.
