Whether you think street style is a form of inspiring self-expression or vulgar attention-seeking, there’s no question that the genre has become a huge phenomenon, and anyone who’s involved with fashion on any level has an opinion about it. And when we filmed theFashionDish roundtable a few weeks ago, we made sure to put the question to our panelists.
“The thing that make me crazy, is that there’s fashion and then there’s circus,” said fashion journalist Laurie Brookins, referencing Suzy Menkes’ 2013 takedown of street style culture. “And out on the promenade we see way too much circus that’s not fashion. It’s a circus so you will get your picture taken.”
“But hold on,” said June Ambrose. “Fashion is mute without style. Designers are creating clothes for consumers to interpret. Let them live. Think about how elite this industry is — they don’t have access. Let them live.”

- Robert Verdi, a celebrity stylist (best known for his work with Eva Longoria), television personality and lifestyle expert.
