7 Iconic Looks From 90s Chick Flicks
Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) in Clueless, 1995
We can't think of a 90s film more closely tied to fashion than Clueless, from Cher Horowitz's Alaïa to this outfit selected from her computer automated closet. Twenty-three years later, Cher’s bright plaids are still a staple at every Halloween party — and sometimes even IRL .

Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) in 10 Things I Hate About You, 1999
This flick is famous for Patrick Verona's (aka Heath Ledger's) soulful performance of "Can’t Take My Eyes Off You" on the campus quad to impress antisocial Kat Stratford. But it's her blue prom dress we remember — along with our giddy feelings when the unlikely couple finally ended up together. Her silk floor-length gown represented Kat’s walls coming down and personified elegance.

Michele Weinberger (Lisa Kudrow) in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, 1997
We all loved Lisa Kudrow in Friends, but her style in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion is one for the books. At the reunion, her pink metallic mini dress with fluffy faux fur lining screamed success (even if Romy and Michele didn't really invent Post-its). She definitely should have won the best-dressed award.

Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts) in Pretty Woman, 1990
Julia Roberts is pretty much unforgettable in every role she plays, but perhaps none more so than Pretty Woman . Her clothes helped define the evolution of her character, Vivian Ward, throughout the film, from the white top connected to a tie-dye miniskirt with a metal ring, shown here, to her iconic brown polka dot dress and hat .

Selena Quintanilla (Jennifer Lopez) in Selena, 1997
Selena Quintanilla got heat for wearing this outfit during her performance. And, yes, it’s a bra with "sparkly things," just like the legend herself said. But we all know it’s more than that. Selena inspired girls all over the world to persevere and reach for their dreams and not to let society dictate what she could wear.

Laney Boggs (Rachael Leigh Cook) in She’s All That, 1999
Although we agree that she’s all that when Laney Boggs "transforms" into a beautiful woman, we are all about inner beauty and think she looks pretty cute in her "before" look, too. Her boho top was ahead of its time, but we can't say the same for the taco hat.

Sarah Bailey (Robin Tunney) in The Craft, 1996
The Craft is your typical clique movie — but with witches — and the outfits are straight out of your high school fashion dreams. Sarah Bailey's, in particular, featuring knee-high black leather boots, a plaid skirt and a graphic tee is the look you want to steal if you're living a double life because of your bewitching powers.
