Lena Dunham has become the latest celebrity to sing the praises of Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark (real name Amy Billings), after giving the siren a heartfelt shout-out on Twitter this weekend.
Tweeting directly to Shark, Dunham said the “Adore” hitmaker helped her through what appears to have been a tough few weeks for the Girls creator…
@amysharkmusic hardly exaggerating when I say you saved my life these past few weeks

…and she even quoted some of Shark’s best-known lyrics:
@jacksonlangford @AmySharkMusic “And I hate every girl who’s ever known ya”

What’s more, Dunham’s Instagram bio currently features a lyric from Shark’s recent single ‘Weekends’:
After all the love, Shark quickly replied to Dunham’s praises, and did it in pretty much the only way possible:
I’m done. I’m dead. This tweet will be with me forever. @lenadunham HOLY DAMN thank you so much https://t.co/x0KFc7RX0A

Dunham’s Amy Shark shoutout comes after former Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge recently called the Aussie musician “the next HUGE thing.”
Amy Shark released her debut EP Night Thinker earlier this year, and is taking the record on a national tour this August and September.
