Kylie Jenner’s attempt to trademark the name ‘Kylie’ has officially been rejected by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The reality television, fashion designer and model recently submitted an application to the office, but our very own Kylie Minogue was having none of it, submitting her own letter in a no-holds-barred approach that labelled Jenner as nothing more than a “secondary reality television personality”.
Minogue’s letter also drew attention to Jenner being “active on social media where her photographic exhibitionism and controversial posts have drawn criticism from, e.g., the Disability Rights and African American communities”.
In contrast, Minogue was described as an “internationally-renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist known worldwide simply as ‘Kylie’”, and following the opposition letter the Trademarks Office promptly rejected Jenner’s application.
Kylie Jenner has since appealed the decision.
