Black dresses were a popular choice this week, but with strategic lace, bold patterns and flashy embellishments, the pieces were far from basic. A-listers like Kerry Washington, Elizabeth Banks and Charlize Theron all managed to turn heads in truly unique LBDs. For the select few who opted out of the dark shade, structure reigned supreme as an elaborate overlay and a tattoo-inspired bodice stole some of the spotlight. Necklines were pretty varied, including strapless, plunging and even off-the-shoulder. Stars also stepped it up in the shoe department, slipping on everything from colorful pumps to two-tone sandals.
