On both election night and during the start of the inaugural festivities, Michelle Obama was decked-out in Narciso Rodriguez. For election night Obama wore a red and black, straight from the runway dress, while she opted for a light purple coat and dress for a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Then, the first lady to be changed outfits, going with a black-lined camel coat with a camel skirt and black silk beaded top and scarf at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial for the “We Are One” concert – all of which were from Narciso Rodriguez.
As for her jewelry, Mrs. Obama wore white gold and diamond quatrefoil chandelier Loree Rodkin earrings with black diamond centers which she borrowed from a Chicago boutique. The retail price for the earrings is $17,313.
Mrs. Obama wore a Maria Cornejo coat on Saturday, January 17th on the train ride to Washington, while she and her daughters — Malia and Sasha – went with J. Crew and the J. Crew children’s label Crewcuts at the Jonas Brothers concert for the “Kids Inaugural: We Are the Future” event on January 19th.
Michelle Obama’s outfit the day of the inauguration however was the one most speculated about. Obama started off her morning in a Isabel Toledo bright yellow dress and matching coat. The outfit was paired with “Glacier” pumps by Jimmy Choo.
Ruben Toledo, Isabel Toledo’s husband, said this morning that he and his wife are levitating. Ruben added that neither of them had any idea though they had hoped Mrs. Obama would wear something because she has bought Isabel Toledo’s clothes before.
