Happy Birthday Kate Middleton! We Choose Our Top Five Duchess' Outfits
The Wedding Dress
Obviously, it had to be mentioned, as none of her outfits are more iconic than her legendary Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen designed wedding dress. Described as the best kept secret of modern times, pictures of that hand embroidered gown will take pride of place in history books.
The Engagement Dress
This dress is so iconic that they made a wax work dummy out of it! Well, kind of. Standing proudly beside an immaculate Prince William inside the international tourist’s favourite London destination, Madame Tussauds, is an exact replica of Kate’s dress that was created by ISSA with the sole purpose of featuring on her waxwork. This blue dress will always remind us of a seemingly media shy Kate when she officially announced her engagement to Wills – awww!!
That Missoni Coat
Remember her Missoni tweed coat? Sure you do, the eco-friendly Duchess, who accordingly recycles her wardrobe, was pictured in this number several times last year whilst touring the UK to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee. We still want one!
The Flotilla Dress
To celebrate her Diamond Jubliee, good old Liz threw a majestic flotilla upon the River Thames, yet it’s not that once in a lifetime vision of a million tiny boats rowing along the river that we can’t forget, but rather that amazing Alexander McQueen red pleated skirt and peplum that Kate chose to wear!
The Roland Mouret Dress
Her sister Pippa may have caused a bum trend with her figure hugging bridesmaid dress, but designer Roland Mouret has exclusively revealed that Kate certainly doesn’t want to follow in her footsteps. Apparently, whenever she requests a dress by the designer, she always asks it to fit slightly looser than normal around the bottom. Check out this Mouret number that she wore to an event at Claridges, London — you can definitely see the difference in fit to her sister’s.
