Do you ever see a pic of a celeb looking like a hot mess and wonder how, with all of the stylists, designers, makeup artists, and Hunger Games -style prep teams behind this girl, did this happen? Us too. That’s why we’ve created a game where we get to reimagine celeb style snafus—if only we were their stylists.
If We Were The Stylist, Jessica Biel Would Be Looking A Little Less Studded (& Other Celeb Style Fixes)
Jessica Biel Looks a Little Too Studly
While in Paris recently, Jessica Biel looked more like she was heading to a meeting of the local biker gang chapter than doing some shopping. With a red studded leather jacket, studded black leather pants, studded Western-style ankle boots, an embellished top—and could those be tiny studs lining her bag?—it seemed that Biel either got a bedazzling kit as a wedding present or just made herself an unfortunate example of one trend taken too far. Any of these pieces would rock on its own, but thrown together like this? It’s too much.

Pull Up Your Dress, Diane Kruger
Diane Kruger usually has impeccable taste, and the dress she picked for Chanel Fine Jewelry’s celebration of the 80th anniversary of their Bijoux de Diamants collection was no exception… almost. The dress—hot off the designer’s 2013 runway —would’ve been perfect if she had only hiked it up a little. The stylista seemed eager to show off her, um, jewels, but the dress would’ve looked much classier if it didn’t look like it was about to fall off.

Lose the Hat, Elle Fanning
Elle Fanning’s been starring in all kinds of best dressed lists lately, but not in the outfit she wore to the same Chanel event. Her velvet dress with a Peter Pan collar is endearing in a kind of Alexa Chung way, but worn with those loafers and bowler hat, it comes off as costume reject for a Dickens adaptation.

Ciara Tries Tiers
It’s exciting to see Ciara in such an avant-garde shape as the Givenchy blazer she wore to the Black Girls Rock! Event in NYC, but with such out-there (literally) shoulders and sleeves, it would’ve been wise not to introduce any other surprises from the waist down. If she had worn just the jacket and tailored trousers without either of the two (count ‘em) dresses, this could’ve been a cool take on the menswear trend—but with all those layers, her outfit is unflattering and confused.

Chloe Sevigny Might Be Our Favorite American Horror Story
Pessimistic readers might think that there’s no hope for the dress that Chloe Sevigny wore to the American Horror Story: Asylum premiere in Hollywood, but once we heard the Valentino dress described as “Jekyll & Hyde” we decided to give her points for sticking with the horror story theme. Plus, we’re so used to seeing Sevigny in wacky outfits that it’s kind of fun to see what she’ll think of next.

Rose McGowan Shuffles Off To Buffalo
Now pessimistic readers may think that there’s no hope for the ensemble that Rose McGowan wore to perform a tap dance in a local talent show—ahem, we mean to the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles—and they’re probably right.
