Get the Celeb Look: Vests

Sometimes it’s the little touches that take your outfit from average to enviable. Celebrities have stylists to calculate all the complicated nuances of putting together a look, but we aren’t all so fortunate. Luckily, tFS has put together some celeb-inspired styling tips and tricks to help you put together a look that’s got that extra oomph! This week, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Emily Senko show us how to look our best in a vest.

Tip #1: Try an oversized duster vest this season like Sarah Jessica Parker

SJP wore this look on a breezy day at the Hotel Carlton Pier during the Cannes Film Festival this past summer, but it can easily transition to fall. She accented her striped chiffon maxi skirt and plain white top with a long, open duster vest with nautical-inspired buttons. Who says your fall sweater has to have sleeves?

Celebs can’t get enough of fall’s furry vests. In natural or Technicolor, soft shearling or all-out yeti, the fur vest is a touchable statement piece. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley turned a basic t-shirt-and-jeans look into a trendy and fun look by adding an Isabel Marant dyed fur vest. Her Burberry aviators, grey suede booties and mustard Alexander Wang tote completed the look. Not into fur? There are countless faux options on the market.

1. Juicy Couture Belted Faux Fur Gilet – $280; 2. Michael Kors Adina High Heel Suede Bootie – $220; 3. H&M &Denim Jeans – $32; 4. Quiksilver Winter Faux Fur Vest – $119; 5. BKE Faded Faux Fur Vest – $36.82; 6. Principles by Ben de Lisi Yellow Tag Detail Grab Handbag – $46

Model Emily Senko gets to wear the latest runway looks, but her style off the catwalk competes for freshness. Backstage at the Blumarine show, she created a smart ensemble that channeled the beat poets by layering a camel collarless vest over a chic black turtleneck and belted body-con mini. Her socks and patent mary-janes completed the collegiate look.
