This week, the star-studded world of Twitter opened its arms to welcome Gwyneth Paltrow’s very first tweet, Heidi Klum lost in a sea of birthday balloons and flowers, Alexa Chung’s vintage hair inspiration, and more.
Stars may try and hold out as long as they can, but eventually the temptation to turn their fans into followers and instantly share pics of their brunches, tiny dogs, and new shoes becomes too strong. Gwyneth Paltrow gave in this week and finally got a Twitter account. The movie star mom’s inaugural twitpic? Suprisingly, it wasn’t the inevitable “How does this thing work?” but a pic of the kids of course! She posted this sweet shot of seven-year-old daughter Apple and five-year-old son Moses rocking out to dad Chris Martin’s new Coldplay music. “M+A at coldplay secret gig new songs=genius,” tweeted the actress. We’re looking forward to seeing what Paltrow will tweet next.
“Boo!” tweeted Jamie Chung with this pic revealing one of her skincare secrets. No, she’s not undergoing some kind of full-face cosmetic surgery, but her facial mask is almost as creepy. The actress may be a consistent presence on tFS’s Best Dressed list, but there are some accessories better left in the privacy of one’s own boudoir. Oh well, beauty is pain…
The Saturdays’ Una Healy couldn’t be there for bandmate Mollie King’s 24th birthday bash, but she made up for her absence with a gift of a pair of 90s-inspired beige platform heels. “I’ve just received the most amazing birthday present from @unahealy!!!! I’m a very lucky girl x x x” tweeted the obviously pleased birthday girl.
Quick, try and spot Heidi Klum in this sea of balloons and flowers! No, the supermodel was not posing for a Hallmark ad, it was also her birthday this week. She turned a fabulous 38, and judging by the pic she uploaded to Twitter, Klum was practically overrun with birthday flowers and balloons from her fans. “Thank you so much for all of my beautiful flowers, presents and birthday wishes. Love Heidi,” she tweeted. Who wins, Heidi Klum or Mollie King?
“….why do I want one….” tweeted Chloe Moretz with this pic of a Blythe doll. Maybe it’s because the classic kitschy doll bears a startling resemblance to the former child actress and star of Hit-Girl’s own doll-like looks.
Alexa Chung has been channeling vintage fashion for the last few months, tweeting awesome 90s Versace spreads. This week she went even further back into the fashion archives for some insp-hair-ation, tweeting a pic of the British “barefoot pop princess” Sandie Shaw’s killer bob. “Can we talk about Sandie Shaw‘s perfect hair for a second?” tweeted Chung. Notice any resemblance to Chung’s own cropped and coiffed locks?
