BALENCIAGA PARIS F/W 2010

Green, blue, even orange eyebrows! Love it, or hate it, the Nicolas Ghesquiere-designed Balenciaga collections never fail to make an impact. Brightly dyed eyebrows tied into surprisingly bright looks for the designer’s Fall/Winter 2010 collection. The structured, at times boxy, silhouettes the designer has been showing these past few seasons made for the Balenciaga’s now signature futuristic looks.

Fittingly, the show took place at the legendarily posh Hotel Crillon, but was shown on a decidedly 21st century brightly illuminating square-gritting catwalk.  This underscored Ghesquiere’s forward-thinking aesthetic, and incorporated new digital techniques (a la Hussein Chalayan) with traditional couture-like craftsmanship.
