This season Parabal Gurung, coming off a few great weeks in which Sarah Jessica Parker wore a number of his designs to high-profile events, found himself inspired by Nobuyoshi Araki’s Sensual Flowers series and as such his collection featured a recurring floral motif that varied in its degree of success.
When the designer stuck with a monochrome palette, whether it be for a sheer accented black dress or black separates, and to looks that didn’t embellish the engineered floral prints, he was exceedingly more successful.
