Karl Lagerfeld at Home for VIVA!; Anna Wintour Wears Jeans

While print publications are falling all over themselves trying to figure how to translate their product for a digital platform, Style.com is planning to launch a print component to the web publication. Style.com is owned by Fairchild Fashion Group, a division of Conde Nast that publishes Women’s Wear Daily and W. Style.com’s print spinoff is set to launch after fashion week in late 2011, featuring coverage of the Spring 2012 runway shows. The first issue will use “Style.com” in the title, and Fairchild hopes that the glossy format will attract a broader consumer audience than its insidery trade mag, WWD. Oy, I’m all for a world filled with print mags, but I can’t wrap my head around this bizarro move: if newsstand sales are lagging because there’s so much content available online, how many people would shell out cash for a paper product that advertises, on the cover, that there’s a digital version available for free? In one of her more shocking moves, Anna Wintour was spotted at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami on Saturday wearing jeans. The Vogue editrix has donned denim at least twice in the past: once in 2008, during a Knicks games, and once in 2009, at a screening for The September Issue. Wintour’s choice of denim? The relatively affordable J Brand 914 Low-Rise Cigarette Leg in Ink ($158). Get yourself a pair, but don’t break it out unless you happen to be watching either a sporting event or a film about yourself. [BettyConfidential]
