Day five, Milan Fashion Week, and Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana paid homage to the icon of all icons: Madonna. The relationship between Madonna and Dolce & Gabbana has lasted since 1991, and was commemorated during MFW in great style earlier today with a high-octane and overtly glamorous spectacle, dedicated entirely to the queen of pop (who was, of course, sitting perched front row). Models walked the dark and seductive runway sporting tightly permed blonde wigs, set in place with a black stretch hairband in a nod to Madonna’s legendary Blond Ambition tour. An array of corsets were on display in black, white, nude, and blush-tones. The Italian design duo also served up a reinterpretation of the iconic cone bra.
Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2025 Review
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“This collection isn’t just Madonna coded, it’s Madonna from start to finish. An amazing tribute to her, and so appropriate that she was in the front row.” [mepps]
“It’s a very nice hommage. After all, Madonna was very instrumental in their success.” [Lola701]
“A beautiful collection and homage to Madonna. It was also great to see the icon in the audience.” [MModa]
“I like this collection a lot probably because it has allure and sultriness of Monica Bellucci in Malena!” [JohannesL]
“The opening was everything!” [Kanzai]
“I really, really, really wanted to like it. I loved the opening, and the mood. Yet it started to fall flat after a few looks. Also, the pace of the show and the unsureness of the movement of the models made it so boring for me. It just was not as dynamic as it could have been.” [Salvatore]
“Terribly dated and demodé.” [FashionPower]
“I wish they would stop remaking, reissuing, referencing their old stuff and do something new.” [avonlea002]
