And the surprises keep on coming. First Jennifer Lopez closes the Versace show, then a model stages a protest on Gucci’s runway and now Dries Van Noten reveals that the legendary Christian Lacroix co-designed his Spring 2020 collection. It’s the collaboration we never knew we needed.
The pair secretly worked for several months on the delightfully over-the-top offering. Lacroix, the former haute couture master turned costume designer, brought a theatrical touch to the collection, from the puffy skirts to the clashing prints. And (somehow) Van Noten’s voice didn’t get lost in the shuffle. He managed to work in wardrobe staples — white tanks and white jeans — that make us think we could actually pull off some of these larger-than-life looks IRL.
We still have a few more days to go before fashion month officially wraps and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
