August brought many unexpected cover stars (like Missy Elliott for Marie Claire and Naomi Osaka on Allure), but also some standout shots of glossy favorites Janelle Monáe and Serena Williams. There weren’t many models landing covers this month so we hope publications are simply saving the supermodels for the September issues.
