The fashion industry has been in mourning ever since the death of Karl Lagerfeld in February. Lagerfeld said he’d “rather die” than have a grand sendoff, but that didn’t stop some of his famous friends from honoring the late designer in Paris last night.
Karl For Ever was put together by the houses of Fendi, Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld (naturally) and featured fashion’s elite. We’re talking Anna Wintour, recently knighted Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, Alber Elbaz, Jonathan Anderson, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Alessandro Michele, Gigi Hadid and more. The 90-minute tribute held at the Grand Palais included grand black-and-white portraits of the man of the hour and performances by Pharrell Williams, Helen Mirren, Tilda Swinton, Cara Delevingne and others. Attendees were also treated to footage of Lagerfeld’s interviews over the years.
The legend is gone, but definitely not forgotten.
