While black and beige may be among the dominating color trends thus far this Fall/Winter season, I wasn’t anticipating Cavalli to incorporate so much black into his collection. That is not to say that the designer didn’t stay true to his love of animal print, fur, and bright colors – there were indeed plenty of all of those – but the combination of traditional Cavalli signatures with stark black looks accented with sheer fabrics, ruffled details, and leather made for a glamazon Milanese woman-meets grungy Lower East Sider look that surprisingly worked.
