FASHION NEWS: MCQUEEN FUNERAL, ARMANI EXHIBIT

A private funeral service took place on February, 24th for Lee Alexander McQueen. The designer was found dead on February 11th in his London apartment after hanging himself. The funeral service was held for family and close friends only. A public memorial service will take place later this year, but there is no firm date or place set yet.

According to a McQueen spokesperson his label is focused “right now on the Paris show, which takes place on March 9.”  Talk about a disturbing and inappropriate thing for a spokesperson to say. They can’t be bothered to deal with a public funeral for McQueen because they are too busy focused on the bottom line, and their show? Truly disheartening.

Armani created four looks (along with custom shoes and sunglasses to go with each), including “a curved-shouldered, sparkly structured body suit, a segmented sparking body suit with a lobster effect on one sleeve, a geometric mini-dress with a mirror effect, and a floor-length black patent trench,” according to Fashion Week Daily. As for Prada, they created an 18th century-inspired hoop dress made from camel-colored ciré for the performer.
