Drag Race Winner Sasha Velour Partners With Opening Ceremony for New York Fashion Week

American retailer Opening Ceremony announced on Wednesday that it’s collaborating with the bright-eyed and bushy-browed Season 9 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race for a fashion show that will make you scream, “Yaaaas kween!”

Well-known in the show for her iconic finale lip sync and wit, Sasha Velour, 31, will be featured in Opening Ceremony’s presentation called “The Gift of Showz.” A live spectacle celebrating the art of drag in New York and around the world, the show is scheduled for September 9 at New York Fashion Week.

Velour has done a tremendous amount of work since her season ended, including the critically-acclaimed drag show Nightgowns and a Google Doodle dedicated to Marlene Dietrich, but this will be her first collaboration in the world of high fashion.

The Gift of Showz will feature the debut of Opening Ceremony’s Spring 2019 collection, as well as appearances and performances by special guests. Velour even promises, “You’re gonna flip!!”
