Taylor Hill Is Creating Four Capsule Collections for Joe’s Jeans

Yet again, Taylor Hill is the face of a thing. This time around, it’s Joe’s Jeans’ Spring 2017 advertising campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti and slated for release this March. But that’s not all. The 20-year-old has completed her fourth and final model rite of passage (the first three being a big-name runway casting, Victoria’s Secret wings and a beauty contract). This coming spring, Hill and Joe’s Jeans will release the first of four co-branded capsule collections. In other words, Taylor Hill is now a designer.

Hill has always been intrigued by tailoring (sorry). “Before I was scouted, I was thinking of doing graphic design for college, and I took sewing classes because I was thinking of going into fashion design. I had no idea what I wanted to do, and I ended up modeling,” the well-browed beauty told WWD.

Given that Taylor is known for her laid-back style, the 20- to 25-piece lineup will focus on basics — jackets, T-shirts, jeans and a pair of shortalls in which she takes particular pride. “A lot of my stuff is super basic, but it’s all the right fit and right wash of the T-shirt — do you wear a belt or do you not — things that spice it up. For me, I love overalls, and my whole career I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of overalls. For summer, we made a short, cutoff one,” shared the model.

This is Joe’s Jeans’ first capsule collection. Color us unsurprised that they tapped the third most influential Angel to do the design honors. “The idea is to keep it really tight and well edited and curated. Nothing will be in that assortment that she [Hill] doesn’t believe in and doesn’t personally love,” affirmed Joe’s president and CEO Suzy Biszantz.

The limited-edition collection, which ranges in price from $44 to $350, will be available at Joe’s Jeans stores and via the brand’s e-commerce site in April-May. Joe’s x Taylor (or whatever they end up calling it) will also be stocked at select department stores and e-tailers, including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and Shopbop. The three follow-up capsule collections will be released over the course of the next two years. Overalls lovers, your time has come.
