The 55 Best Looks from Milan Fashion Week Fall 2015

If there’s one thing Italians love more than carpaccio, it’s un piccolo dramma. Thankfully, Milan Fashion Week delivered it in spades. The most anticipated show of the week was no doubt Gucci, where Frida Giannini‘s replacement, Alessandro Michele, debuted his first womenswear collection. The poetic sing-song marked the beginning of a new Gucci girl, an eccentric magpie with a penchant for flea market finds and thrift store treasures. That being said, the new romantic direction didn’t exactly solidify Michele’s place at the head of the table, but it gave us enough food for thought to tide us over until next time.

Meanwhile, over at Emilio Pucci, creative director Peter Dundas unofficially said arrivederci with a cryptic finale that included his entire design team. Dundas and Pucci parent company LVMH have remained mum about the designer’s rumored return to Roberto Cavalli — whether for retail strategy or legal mumbo-jumbo. And then there was Dolce & Gabbana, which proved that Italian men are really just mama’s boys at heart. Their ode to motherhood, complete with mini-me models bouncing down the runway, was the talk of the town.
