Needless to say, this particular cover was the most talked about in years. Months previous to Kimye’s appearance on the American glossy, our forums were full of speculation that the couple was in talks with Anna Wintour to grace an upcoming cover. The duo eventually showed up on the magazine’s April 2014 edition and the forums became rife with negativity, which prompted discussion regarding Wintour’s position and future at the Condé Nast publication. Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Kim and Kanye were styled by Grace Coddington (who was apparently the brains behind the idea) with Kim wearing a bridal-style Lanvin gown for the top-secret shoot in which the team had to arrive in disguise. It’s still unclear whether or not the issue became a top seller (stay tuned!).
