While there will be some that lament Gareth Pugh going for more wearable looks these past few seasons, it’s hard to blame the designer for looking to have both editorial and commercial success. Further, he seems to be doing it while staying true to his fashion-as-art backbone. Case in point, while his Spring 2014 collection had ostrich feather headdresses, architectural oversized wraps and coats with armor-like oversized shoulders, there was plenty in the way of wearable separates.
Long lean skirts, fitted trousers, draped kimono-like jackets, coats with oversized collars and high-shine lean trousers all made for fantastic statement pieces that plenty of women will by dying to wear.
