Soft muted colors including greys, nudes, and pinkish flesh tones are prominent for next season. They were seen all over designers’ Spring 2010 runways in soft jerseys and constructed knits. Slinky evening wear in asymmetrical lines, chiffon blouses paired with silk skirts, and constructed day dresses with interesting design details were the most popular.

A nod to luxury and refinement with modern silhouettes, these looks were different from those seen these past few seasons. It’s a turn from the hard edge, gothic pieces covered in studs for 2009. Feminine and beautiful, these color palettes and lighter fabrications show a softer look for women who may have needed a little extra armor recently.
