As if we needed yet another celebrity-designed collaboration, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have teamed-up with Asprey for a capsule collection of gold jewelry and silver accessories. Inspired by snakes, the collection is called the Protector, and just hit Asprey stores in London, New York, Beverly Hills, Tokyo, and Dubai. Prices for the gold and silver pieces, which have been about a year in the making, start at $525 for a silver baby spoon. Proceeds will be going to the charity Jolie co-founded, Education Partnership for Children of Conflict which helps raises awareness and funds to educate child victims of war, conflict, and natural disasters.
While a number of the pieces are eye-catching, they’re far from original, and are reminiscent of pieces seen everywhere from Cartier to Elizabeth & James. In fact, the snake theme stemmed from a ring given to Jolie (not an Asprey one) when she was pregnant with daughter Shiloh that was in the shape of a snake. That said, this isn’t the first time Pitt and Jolie have teamed up with Asprey; both have commissioned pieces privately from the jewelry, and Jolie has worn Asprey on a number of red carpets. As for Pitt, he has created pieces for the Italian jeweler Damiani in the past.
