CHARLOTTE RONSON S/S 2010

Grey jersey cut-off tops a la Jennifer Beals in Flashdance, lace – in paneling, pants, as well as tops – rolled-up boyfriend blazers and tops that exposed contrasting lining, stud embellishments, loose-hanging vests, and cut-outs all contributed to the 80’s motif, while obi-esque wrap belts, soft pinks and whites, light embroidery, headbands worn across the forehead, and flowing chiffon all conjured up ballerina images.

While the collection had its usual downtown hipster meets casual-chic model vibe, this season Ronson took more risks and her show was less repetitive than it has been in season past. While not everyone will want to wear high-waisted leather hot pants or a sheer top with embroidered pockets covering their breasts, it’s great to see Ronson taking some risks and doing so successfully.
