Joining the likes of Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane for Burberry, Matthew Williamson, and Pringle of Scotland, Sass and Bide has just announced that they will be presenting their Spring/Summer 2010 collection in London for the British capital’s 25th Fashion Week anniversary. Their show will take place in a central London location on Friday, September 18th at 7:15 p.m.
London isn’t the only one celebrating, however, as the show will mark Sass & Bide’s 10th anniversary. The Australian label was started in 1999 by Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton as a denim label and has since grown exponentially around the world. London must surely have a special place in the designers’ heart, since it was there that in February of 2002 they had their first international show. Subsequently, the design duo showed for eight consecutive seasons in New York where they were the first Australian designers to be invited to show on schedule at New York Fashion Week. The Sass & Bide diffusion label ‘S&B VIE by sass & bide’ was launched in 2008 at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
In response to the announcement, the two women remarked that ten years ago the concept for Sass & Bide was born in London, “to be returning here 10 years later, showing in a city that we love so much and that fuels our creativity, is really exciting!”
