You’ve got to give kudos to Thom Browne and his team for coming up with ideas like this for a fashion presentation.
The theme is sportswear.
Fifty-seven male bodies covered in robes lined up in impossibly neat rows on a stage before the pool, and once the show started, they got into formation. The first 20 (all athletes from Milan) took off the robes and dived into the water. The remaining 37 (real models) stripped off their robes to unveil the new Spring ’10 creations underneath, and walked by the poolside runway to show them off.
Thom Browne’s Fall ’09 presentation for his own label utilized the same trick with synchronized movements. Check out the full show video from DazedDigital — 40 models in the exact same pieces, typing away on old-school typewriters. The focus is strictly on the tailoring of the individual pieces.
