She has been seen schmoozing with Daphne Guinness. She has been photographed by none other than Karl Lagerfeld, and she has been around the world in some of the most covetable fashions. A fan of Rodarte, she recently attended a private dinner for the label at Harvey Nichols. Somewhat unfortunately for the lady in question – 19 year old Harry Potter actress Emma Watson – she is tied in to the Harry Potter franchise for another year.
In the film, Watson plays Potter’s classmate Hermione Granger and therefore needs to maintain a certain image. The Daily Mail is reporting that when posing for an upcoming issue of W magazine, the Harry Potter producers stepped in and asked for the shoot to be toned down. Lucky for the producers, she is all covered up in the upcoming Burberry ads in which she is the star.
Burberry, who made the headline when they dropped Agyness Deyn from their advertising campaign, (because she was becoming “too famous”) has picked the young starlette to be the face of their campaign. The ads were shot by Mario Testino in Westminister next to Burberry’s new global headquarters. Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey called her an obvious choice – “Emma, like the images she fronts, has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. Her charm, intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames.”
