“Italy’s sea” was the inspiration for Laura Biagiotti’s Spring/Summer collection. Under the umbrella of a coherent style she presented outfits fit for the office and for the beach.
There is a play of proportions and details. The ecological natural fibers flow in geometrical shapes along the body. The presence of the shell sleeve and the printed dresses and blouses in chiffon create this three-dimensional effect, a rhythm of pleats and volumes.
The sharp shapes are of course part of this sea world, so it was not a surprise to see batwing sleeves and dresses finished in points. Those cuts make some outfits a little more edgy and create a different movement on the waves.
Laura Biagiotti includes knitwear as airy dresses and blouses, ponchos and scarves combined with leather-stripped belts with a knot on the front, city bags and 60’s style sunglasses.
In this collection the details take this “coral” concept to create a special optical effect. Embroidered branches in red, over white satin, the bright sequins with tone over tone contrast reinforcing this world of texture, this sea world.
The patch work with pieces of lace gives the femininity and sensuality.
Turquoise, sunny yellow, aqua green, and splashes of purple are mixed in shell prints over the chiffon dresses that can be confused with big flowers and petals, giving almost a sensation of the batik technique.
Laura Biagiotti’s collection achieves a fresh and young air, taking a step forward in innovative materials and latest techniques in the fashion world, but always keeping sight of her past style.
