The biggest holiday window buzz this year may have been around Nordstrom's holiday decorating policy — which, given that it isn't a new one, is odd — but here in New York there was plenty to overshadow it including Cirque du Soleil and Jazz Age-themed displays. Here's a look at the most notable.

Celebrating 75 years of holiday windows, Lord & Taylor’s displays feature five holiday scenes from around the globe including a Santa checking his list on an iPad.

Bloomingdale's
Inspired by the upcoming "Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away" which opens December 21, the interactive colorful display includes a window that snaps photos of passersby and projects their images onto characters in the store windows.

Titled "BG Follies of 2012," Bergdorf Goodman went with a Jazz Age theme featuring displays that include fashions from Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Alexander McQueen , and many more.

Barneys New York
This year, Barneys went with a Disney theme titled “Electric Holiday," which includes an animated short featuring Minnie and Mickey Mouse and other popular characters alongside a slew of bold face fashion names.
Saks Fifth Avenue
Titled “Snowflake Spectacular,” Saks' windows are all about snow — ahem, kosher salt — and include countless snow globes and a stunning lighting projection you can see here.

Tiffany & Co
Tiffany recreated miniature versions of uber posh Upper East Side homes for its displays this season.
