Mary Pierson: A dark wash pencil leg or mid-rise cigarette leg work for all body types.
tFS: Thoughts on head-to-toe denim? Any way to make it look good?
MP: I think it’s fashion forward and modern if worn in simple silhouettes and different shades of denim.
tFS: What is it about working with Christopher Kane that you find so appealing?
MP: It’s the only collaboration that we’ve done that has lasted more than one season; it has been a year now and we love working with Christopher and his collections are unpredictable and so creative from season to season.
tFS: There are so many jeans out there, what makes yours different?
MP: Our fit! No matter the style, our jeans fit impeccably and flatter the body.
tFS: Do you wear denim everyday?
MP: 99% of the time!
tFS: What do you wear when you’re not in denim?
MP: Our leather, our stretch twill, or a bathing suit hanging out by the pool.
tFS: Tips for men looking to dress up denim for a night out?
MP: Keep it dark and slim, and pair with a slim cut blazer or leather jacket.
tFS: Why now for RTW?
MP: The time was just right. We knew our customer was ready for more than just jeans from us.
tFS: Do you find that there’s a difference in the popular jean styles in LA vs NY?
MP: Very little.
tFS: Are there any jean styles that will never go out of style?
MP: The Dark Wash Skinny and our Lovestory Flare – different silhouettes but iconic J Brand fits.

MP: A week on a secluded beach with white sand and turquoise calm water — no phones and no computers!
