Scenes from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: Closed Set with Julie Bensman

There’s something about the combination of supermodels and power performances, lingerie and lip gloss, bright lights and a big city that make grown men and women go wild. Last Wednesday’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show didn’t break tradition; rather, it upped the ante to churn out one of the best productions in recent memory. And the girls…lest we forget the girls. To say these women’s bodies are Amazonian works of art is a serious understatement: legs up to there, toned, tan and topped with a megawatt smile. It’s a look no mere mortal can achieve, but it’s certainly inspiring to watch. The Angels will strut their stuff for you at home on November 29 at 10 PM EST on CBS. In the meantime, check out my preview below:

LADIES YOU LOVE: Familiar faces include Adriana Lima, Chanel Iman, Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Miranda Kerr. Certain Angels have always been crowd favorites, hamming it up on the catwalk, blowing kisses and getting people on their feet. The usual suspects were at it again, namely Adriana, Alessandra and Chanel.

NEWCOMERS: Both Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls made their VS debuts, with Kloss closing the entire show. Also in the mix? Our Aspen Peak model, Shanina Shaik, who was plotting her upcoming workout routine to get in shape for the VS auditions while in Moab. Congrats, Shanina!

ROCKING OUT: This year’s live performances were some of the best in recent memory. Kanye West led off with “Stronger” only to introduce none other than Jay-Z to join him onstage for his encore. Maroon 5 was next, with front man Adam Levine walking his VS model girlfriend, Anne V, down the catwalk. Nicki Minaj wrapped the show, with a menagerie of male backup dancers and an outfit only she could rock.

If this show doesn’t make you want to hit the gym and hit up a VS store, I’m not sure what will. My birthday is right around the corner: consider this post a personal wish list.

Xoxo.
