We caught up with designers Dana Foley and Anna Corinna at the Ford Beauty Suite at the Gramercy Park Hotel Friday while getting prepped by some of Ford’s best hair and makeup artists. They filled us in on their newfound inspiration and played our New York Fashion Week game of “would you rather…”

The Fashion Spot: What’s new and exciting for Foley + Corinna?
Dana Foley: Anna and I are collaborating again — exploding and being creative, having fun again. At the beginning of your career, you’re always the most inspired, then the middle of your career is sort of like white water rafting where you’re just navigating your way around. We got bored and needed to reinvent things and get excited again. Now we’re doing what we like again.
Anna Corinna: We’ve been actually working together a lot more. It used to be I was more into the bags and Dana was into the clothes, but now we’re trying to do everything together equally. There’s more synergy when you think of it as one project, rather than two separate projects.
tFS: What are your design inspirations for Spring 2012?
AC: We’re big into vintage, so that’s always the biggest inspiration for us. We always try to do feminine, sexy, but wearable silhouettes.
tFS: How did you two meet?
AC: We met at the (now gone) 26th Street Chelsea Flea Market. I was selling vintage clothing and Dana was a shopper. Then she started making clothing and selling there as well. Even though we were doing completely different things we really appreciated each other’s eye, so it became a natural partnership.
