Earlier this week, The Fashion Spot had the pleasure of working side-by-side with photographer Tim Geaney at the Ford Artists Beauty Suite. Tim studied under photo greats like Edmund Teske and Brett Weston, and got his start as Bruce Weber‘s assistant in the late 70s. While working with Bruce at a shoot for Seventeen magazine in 1979, Tim first met his wife, former model Nancy DeWeir Geaney. In the Ford Artists Beauty Suite Journal, she wrote that “the art spirit” was what drew her to Tim, and I’m happy to report that his “art spirit” is still holding strong. In person, Tim is warm, enthusiastic, and irreverant—an attitude that seeps into his photographs.

In an interview with our Editor-At-Large, Julie Bensman, Tim Geaney described taking photos of people that were “loving themselves” at the Ford Artists Beauty Suite, and said that as a photographer, his constant goal is to make subjects “as beautiful as possible.”
