Pretty, wearable pieces were present on the Nanette Lepore Fall 2011 Runway, but the collection was altogether a bit messy and schizophrenic. Where combining textures usually imparts a rich, complex look, it only confused the viewer and took away from chunky knits or iridescent silk dresses that could have otherwise shone on their own.
And, as we’ve seen again and again for Fall 2011, most of these looks would be more at home on the beach than a fall or winter landscape. Not just the whites, I can be down with winter white. But the prints and the turquoise color story all seemed to be from different collections, all meant for spring.
