Naeem Khan amped up the volume for his Spring/Summer 2011 collection. As always with Khan, the collection was a sumptuous feast of rich, vibrant colors with sequins to spare. However, in this outing Naeem Khan was definitely out to appeal to the more international jetsetter who may be partying in South Beach one weekend, and attending a red carpet event in Cannes the next.
From conception to that final look on the runway, your production must be cohesive, have your signature aesthetic, and speak to your consumer base while looking to expand to a larger demographic. And it all must come together in a seamless production.
This collection brought to mind some 70s influences, and Khan’s rich East Indian background is infused in this collection as it has been in the past. Khan keeps this collection very current with some tie-dyed looks, a big trend this season, as well as some great accessories designed by his wife. And closing your show with supermodel Sessilee Lopez, well, you can’t go wrong with that choice.
