Dior and John Galliano Paris S/S 2011 Menswear

While many of the looks were styled in overly dramatic ways (including white face paint, and patches of exposed skin), the individual pieces rated high when it came to wearability, especially given the dark color palette.

Whether Galliano will be able to bring suspenders and ascots back to the forefront of fashion remains to be seen, however.

In the meantime, svelte men looking for stylish day and formal wear will find no shortage of fitted blazers, loose-fitting pants, snug swimwear, and little cap hats to choose from.

The Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2011 menswear show also took place in Paris. Designed by Men’s Creative Director Kris Van Assche, the Dior Homme collection was done mostly in black with fabrics that were so floatingly lightweight, some of the looks appeared women’s wear inspired.  It seems the casual Alexander Wang aesthetic is catching on now, more than ever.
