Models, with giant flowers atop their hair, donning dresses or high slit silk taffeta skirts paired with vibrant-colored trenches, could make even the most die-hard New Yorkers wish they were jet-setting for Tahiti or St. Tropez.
Conservative, fitted, belted-at-the-waist looks and a rusty-colored, embroidered chiffon caftan worn over briefs kept the 50-plus piece collection interesting.
The models’ hair, teased to perfection, was created by hairstylist Guido Palau. Palau worked Redken Thickening Lotion into wet hair.
The hair was then frizzed and finished with Redken Quick Dry Hairspray No. 6. As for make-up, Marc Jacobs once again wheeled in famed makeup artist and founder of NARS Cosmetics, Francois Nars.
“The look is very reminiscent of Anjelica Huston in the 1970’s – bleached brows and deep eyes,” Nars said. “I wanted them to look like iconic models from the 70’s, but with a modern approach. Marc had ideas of what he wanted the make-up to look like – mimicking the colors of the collection, but not matching exactly.”
