Mimi Elashiry is the girl of the moment. She’s a dancer, Glue Store ambassador, model and MTV presenter, but, for most people, you probably know the 19-year-old Aussie from Instagram. The stunner has over 723,000 followers on her account, and counting – a credit to her networking skills, authenticity, and positive attitude.
“I feel that the role of being an ‘influencer’, if you will, involved encompassing all those aspects that I am passionate about: dancing, photographer, fashion, travel, and inspiring my audience to get out there and experience what life has to offer!” she tells us.
Although Mimi says she uploads photos to Instagram when she feels “truly inspired to”, she also notes that some of her posts are for work, which doesn’t at all worry her. “If it’s work, its work and I just embrace it and get it done. No complaining here!” she says.
The thing that Mimi does right, though, is make sure her posts, whether it be work or otherwise, stay authentic to her own personal brand. She says that people who “try to be a ‘blogger’ and turn into walking advertisements that have no personality or story” are the ones who are making a big mistake.
With the “Instagirl” on the rise, Mimi also finds herself working with esteemed brands like Australian retailer Glue Store, recently modelling for its current Winter campaign alongside the uber-stylish Aisha Jade McKinnon.

“I feel like being an influencer has given me the opportunity to turn things I love into ‘work’,” she explains. “The modelling comes as a privilege because I suppose brands and photographers have connected with my personality and the stories I tell via social media,” she explains.
Despite her already-impressive CV, Mimi tells us that she’s got a whole bunch of things coming up including travelling, photography, getting back into the dance scene and expanding into charity work.
Although she’s got all the makings for a full-blown businesswoman, Mimi has her priorities in check. “I’m just having fun, and trying to inspire my amazing audience along the way.”
Consider us inspired.
