The Fashion Bloggers cast, including Nadia Fairfax, Sara Donaldson, Zanita Whittington and Kate Waterhouse, sat down with theFashionSpot to chat about their fabulous industry, ahead of the show’s second-season premiere on June 4.

Despite the photo shoots, designer threads and enough Instagram double-taps to boost any ego, the girls admit it’s not all smiles and butterflies. “People assume that it’s really not hard work,” Zanita explains of the gig. “I think people believe that we’re just in it for free clothes or something,” she laughs. “It doesn’t pay the bills.”

“It’s also hard just being a young woman and being taken seriously,” Sara adds. “I think the more we shout out and give blogging a good name and a good rep, then the industry’s going to strive.”

Although many would be scared by the thought of competitors, Sara thinks there is “plenty of room” for new bloggers. “There is a gap now for the young twenty-year-olds and the tweens and the 18-year-olds, so, you know what, our readers are growing with us, but then there are the younger girls who want to have a blogger to look up to.”

Nadia has her concerns, though, urging new-comers to be true to themselves.“It’s just about telling these young girls to not mimic the big-name girls that they see so often and create their own aesthetic and own that. Just embrace their own taste. I think that’s a really important thing,” she explains.

And these girls would know, because they have it made. The best part about this whole fashion blogging thing, though? “It’s always exciting, always something new, and you choose what you want to do,” says Kate. “That’s the best part, is that every day is different and you create your destiny.”

Fashion Bloggers Season 2 premieres airs on E! next Thursday, June 4.
