Something is happening over at ELLE HQ and we aren’t sure we approve. Covers of the Hearst-owned fashion publication over recent months just haven’t been cutting it. Not even offerings starring the likes of Lady Gaga, Kylie Jenner, Lisa (of Blackpink), HoYeon Jung, or Anya Taylor-Joy have managed to impress. Nina Garcia, who has served as editor-in-chief since 2017, welcomes back Zoë Kravitz onto the cover of ELLE for March 2025. Exactly three years after her last, the American actress and filmmaker poses for photographer Collier Schorr, complete with stylist Stella Greenspan reporting for duties. The team ventured to a candy store on location in New York City for the cover shoot, with Kravitz posing in a look from Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent in the cover image.
Zoë Kravitz for ELLE March 2025

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Is she supposed to look possessed?” asked mepps upon checking out the cover.
“She looks a bit cross-eyed there,” Marc10 noted.
“I love Zoë Kravitz but again? This is like her fifth cover under Nina Garcia,” complained JPineapple.
KoV even went as far as to declare: “Early contender for worst cover of the year!”
“Dumbfounded. Nina Garcia’s ELLE has fallen WAY off for me lately, and it’s so disappointing to witness. What on Earth is this cover? Absolutely horrific – from concept to photography,” vogue28 voiced.
In complete agreement was crmsn. “They used to have good covers under Nina, but they’ve been flopping for months now. This one in particular looks lazy,” they stated.
“Already disappointed when I seen Collier Schorr’s name, so the result is no surprise,” shared fashionsavvvvvy.
