Inez & Vinoodh Capture Ella McCutcheon for the Fall 2024 Chanel Eyewear Campaign

Right now, Chanel remains without a creative director, following the abrupt exit of Virginie Viard in June. The show, however, must go on, and the fabled French fashion house continues to release collections and campaigns without an official designer at the helm. For the sake of familiarity, Viard favorites Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin remain on the books as campaign photographers. The Dutch creative twosome were ultimately commissioned to lens the Chanel Eyewear campaign for the Fall 2024 season, starring model of the moment Ella McCutcheon. The Australian beauty poses solo throughout the series of portrait campaign images, reclining in each of the shots on a cream leather couch.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“I can’t wait for the I&V era to be done,” Lola701 cried out.

“This is the cheapest and most amateur eyewear campaign I’ve seen from a luxury brand. Model looks like your average girl with zero effort and skill. Photography is nonexistent. Everything looks dirty, especially that leather couch,” chimed in audace.

“These photos are so lifeless,” critiqued Ihhbl.

Urban Stylin commented: “I love the 70s vibe but this doesn’t feel Chanel.”

“Slap the Gucci logo on these, and they’d fit right up into the Alessandro Michele tenure. These just simply do not feel Chanel enough, whatsoever,” vogue28 echoed.

“Depressing and so damn beige,” disapproved forum member Cocteau Stone.
